GRANTS-IN-AID:
Recipient of the PSC-CUNY 39 Research Award, $4,290, July 2008-December 2009 for writing a book about the history and genealogy of Yuan Shikai, the First President of China. Grant money is used for travel to trace the surviving Yuan descendants in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan by conducting interviews and researching Yuan genealogies available at the family history libraries, archival centers, and museums in Beijing, Shanghai, and Henan.
Recipient of the PSC-CUNY 34 Research Award, $3,191, July 2003-December 2004 for writing and compiling a book-length annotated bibliography on Chinese genealogies. Grant money is used for conducting research at the Historical Documentation Center in Shanghai Library and the title of the book is: Chinese Genealogical Research: An Annotated Guide to Chinese Surnames.
Metropolitan New York Library Council, Regional Bibliographic Data Bases (RBDB) and Interlibrary Resources Sharing Program. Retrospective Conversion Project for Baruch College, Newman Library’s psychological collection from the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, $1,844, awarded in 2000.
