Dr. Li Zong is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Saskatchewan and an affiliated researcher of the Prairie Centre of Excellence for Research on Immigration and Integration (PCERII) in Canada. His research projects have been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Prairie Centre of Excellence for Research on Immigration and Integration (PCERII), the Federal Department of Canadian Heritage, and other funding agencies.

He teaches Sociological Theory, Research Methods, Race and Ethnic Relations, Social
Stratification, and Cross-Cultural Perspective on Poverty for the undergraduate and graduate
programs in the Department of Sociology at the University of Saskatchewan. Some of his on-
going research projects include occupational attainment and social mobility of professional
Chinese immigrants in Canada, covert racism and racial inequality, and China’s economic reform
and social change. He has co-authored a sociological book and published many articles and
reviews in referred journals on the issues of immigrants, new racism, multiculturalism,
transnational Chinese business, civil society and social transformation, and race and ethnic
relations. He has also contributed many chapters to published books
